In addition to being the other half of Howlett & Co, I am an Associate and architect at Pickard Chilton. As a Virginia-native, I was raised by a family of antiquarians and conservators and was encouraged to pursue knowledge as a generalist, rather than a specialist. Trained as an apprentice gardener at Colonial Williamsburg’s plant nursery, I have a deep-rooted interest in botany and landscape design and even had a full-fledged orchid greenhouse in my bathroom as a 13 year old. My design style tends to focus on craft, authenticity, and original details.
I received my Masters in Architecture from Yale University, earning the Parsons Medal for City Planning. I also taught as a graduate teaching fellow and was an editor of Yale’s Bass Fellowship publication. I was a Fulbright Fellow in Rotterdam and graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a minor in Landscape Architecture.
